Circle of Security

At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

Learning Objectives of the Program:

•    Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read the emotional needs

•    Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

•    Enhance the development of your child's self esteem

•    Honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure

Respect Sista Girls 2

Helping Hands

Respect Sista Girls 2 is a program for Aboriginal girls and women who want to use their cultural strengths to make positive changes in their lives.

The program aims can be simply described as a journey of reflection, redirection and increased capacity to take control by making informed decisions and choices.  By contributing to their own self-worth and self-value, participants recognise their personal strengths, reconnect with their cultural knowledge, and contribute positively to their family functioning.

This program is delivered by culturally appropriate practitioners.

Bringing up great kids

Developed and established by the Australian Childhood Foundation in 2005, Bringing Up Great Kids is a long-running and acclaimed program with more than 4000 registered facilitators trained nationally. It has had more than 50,000 parents benefit from it since it started.

The Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK) Program is an integrated suite of activities and tools that are unique and offer all parents and carers a fresh way to understand and enact relationships with their children.

BUGK programs and resources support parents to:

• Learn more about the origins of their own parenting style and how it can be more effective
• Identify the important messages they want to convey to the children in their care and how to achieve this
• Learn more about brain development in children and its influence on their thoughts, feelings and behaviour
• Understand the meaning of children’s behaviour
• Discover how to overcome some of the obstacles getting in the way of them being the kind of parents they      would like to be
• Discover ways for parents to take care of themselves and to find support when they need it

The theoretical underpinnings of the ‘messages’ approach derive from a Child-Centred Perspective, neurobiology of Trauma and Attachment, Narrative and Solution Focused therapy and a Strengths Perspective.
