Positive Behaviour Support
2b Inclusive provides Positive Behaviour Support in Adelaide for children, young people, and adults with disability and mental health needs. Our practitioners work alongside individuals, families and support networks to build skills, strengthen emotional safety, and improve quality of life across home, community, school and supported accommodation environments.
Our Approach to Behaviour Support
Our approach is person-centred, neuro-affirming, and grounded in the belief that all behaviour has meaning. We focus on understanding a person’s needs, communication preferences, sensory profile, and environment - rather than attempting to “fix” or suppress behaviour.
We align with the:
-
NDIS Practice Standards
-
Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
-
Disability Inclusion Act (SA)
-
Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support Rules 2018
This ensures support is rights-based, respectful and promotes dignity and autonomy.

What Positive Behaviour Support Involves
Positive Behaviour Support is about improving quality of life and increasing meaningful participation, not simply reducing behaviours of concern.
Our PBS services may include:
-
Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
-
Development of Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
-
Skill-building strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, independence and daily routines
-
Coaching and training for family members, carers, support workers and education teams
-
Collaborative planning across multi-disciplinary teams
-
Monitoring and review to ensure strategies remain helpful and aligned with goals

If restrictive practices are currently in place or being considered, we work carefully to:
-
Ensure they are regulated, time-limited, and the least restrictive option available
-
Consult with the participant so they are centred and actively involved in all decisions
-
Build proactive strategies that reduce the need for restrictive practices over time
-
Support capacity-building for the person and the team implementing strategies
-
Work in partnership with the Authorising Body in SA
Our focus is always on safety, dignity, empowerment, and developing long-term alternatives.
